Michael Christensen

Christensen & Co Architects is the result of and year old dream to establish my own practice. After playing a central role at Henning Larsens Architects for 10 years -the last 5 as Partner and Director of the company- I finally made the leap in May 2006 and formed a strong and innovative new practice.

There is no doubt that I have brought with me an architectural approach formed -and one which I helped shape- at Henning Larsens Architects, but the purpose of creating my own office is also to challenge and develop the architectural tradition and to create a innovative platform for the creation of good architecture.

At Henning Larsens Tegnestue I was project architect and design leader on these selected projects:
 

• The Wave in Vejle, Housing, 14.000 m², 1^st Prize
• Max Planck Science Library 9.500 m², Frankfurt . Invited competition
• Housing and Parking in Ørestad for KUBEN-ØSP, 16.000 m² (stage G)
• Ministry of Social Affairs’ framework agreement for 4.000 affordable homes –in collaboration with NCC (best project)
• CBS, New building for VIP education, 4.000 m², 1^st Prize
• Parking Building in Ørestad, 1^st Prize
• South Danish University and Research Park South, 21.000 m², invited competition
• IT-University in Ørestad, 23.000 m², 1. prize
• Vanløse Butikscenter, bibliotek, kulturhus og biograf, 10.000 m²
• NCC Danmark A/S headquarter, 12.500 m², invited competition
