The modern Hamam project is situated in the historical cellars of the old Carlsberg Breweries in Copenhagen.
The project is meeting between 2 cultures; the Danish / the Arabic – the Architectonic / the Social.
Located at level -1 you’ll find the restaurant: the Ambition here is to create a high profile Arabic food court with the best ingredients from various Arabic kitchens.In addition to the restaurant functions the area also serves as a space for various cultural events such as concerts, film showings, discussions and lectures.
At level -2 is the actual Hamam -complete with different sorts of spa facilities spaced out in the characteristic old basement with domed ceilings and a special underground atmosphere. The focus will be in the different surfaces, special design details and characteristic lights.
The structure is penetrated and connected from the top plaza right down across the complex with optical, conical prisms, directing daylight all the way down to the steam baths at the lowest levels.
